Hurricane Irene 2011

Hurricane Irene coverage.  I tried to do crafts yesterday but wasn't able too in the middle of the hurricane.  I had no lights and I was doing all I could to stay cool.  All the stores were running out of ice.  Then as the storm got worse, they started closing everything down.   Hopefully this will be the last one for a long time.  LOL.  I had no lights, no ice, no internet, no computer, and no way to heat up my hot glue gun.  But Thank God it's over and I can get back to my crafts.  LOL!

My Storm ripped apart my Umbrella

How to Make Paper Flowers

Make Watercolor paper flowers!!  All you need is card stock paper, watered down paint, glitter glue, hot glue, and button or beads of your choice for the center.  You can save a lot of $$$ by making your own flowers.

I made a variety of these flowers using a design by YDontUCreate on Youtube. The flowers that have yellow in them are going to be used for my scrapbooking project that I am still working on at this time.  I also made a rectangle tag and a round tag using the flower design. I will use the other flowers for other upcoming projects.

You can use paper flowers in a variety of different projects including scrapbooking, mini albums. wedding invitations, greeting cards, and baby showers just to name a few.  Making Paper flowers is a fun, easy craft that is also very cost effective as well.  I brought a  pack of 500 sheets of white card stock paper last year for $5.99.  This breaks down to pennies per flower.  You can also make these and sell them for profit.

My Scrapbooking Tags

On the second part of my video is about my scrapbooking tags. I had said that I would upload a video about them last week, but I wanted to do the show about the lace flowers first because I was very excited about them. I started out making my tags first, but I soon discovered the best way for me to make my tags, is to use the scraps that I have left over from my scrapbooking pages.

I really enjoyed making the tags and my favorite tag is the sailboat tag. I used different scrapbooking papers in variety of colors and textures.

Oriental Trading Crafts Haul

Recently, I've been looking for ways to save money on my arts and crafts supplies. I've been going online and I found Oriental trading, a company that sells party favors, small crafts, and scrapbooking supplies. I purchased a few things from them. I saved a lot of money too, especially on the buttons. I love the wooden buttons I got. They look very crafty and natural looking. I know they will look great on my scrapbooking projects.
